ABOUT
I was born into a San Francisco showbiz family, growing up in wings and backstages and raised a diet of showtunes and greasepaint.
I honed my craft in New York City, taught by golden age broadway veterans and made my professional debut in A Chorus Line. The first of many companies (I've lost count) including the European touring company.
Classic Burlesque | Big Band Vocalist | PinUp Model | Theater Nerd
My gateway drug to Burlesque was middle eastern/cabaret bellydance, beginning classes and joining a dance troupe when I was only 10 years old. That combined with my love of all things Broadway, Ziegfeld, Busby Berkley and old Hollywood created a perfect breeding ground for a future showgirl.
But like many, I fell into Burlesque almost accidentally when I was asked to perform for a Broadway Cares fundraiser. My decision to do a burlesque number was directly inspired by a story told by one of the Chorus Line characters about a stripper. I threw together my version of an old timey burlesque number and I was hooked.
I am also a consensual victim of the 90's swing/Lindy hop revival and so, also found a home in the NYC Swing Dance scene. Through that community I continued to do burlesque, began pinup and vintage clothing modeling, joined The Blue Saracens Big Band as lead vocalist, all while continuing my career in musical theater. My passion for vintage Americana* fashion, history and the preservation of song & dance from bygone eras lights the way.
